RESPONSIBLE NEIGHBOR

HOW RMR WORKS TO BE A GREAT NEIGHBOR

Besides dedication to our work and teammates, we are also committed to being good neighbors in the communities we serve. As a longtime member of the Louisville community and with several employees that call adjacent communities home, we strive to be considerate and responsive to our neighbors.

You asked. We listened. We responded!

Because of noise concerns, we voluntarily constructed a multi-story sound barrier that obstructs and dampens sound generated by our regular operating processes, including the perceived intensity of peak operating sounds.

  • If you could not hear us before, nothing will change. If you occasionally heard us, with this new barrier you will hear less.

Other changes we implemented based on your feedback over the years:

  • We added new procedures to avoid incidences of peak operating sounds.

  • We aggressively enforced our supplier code of conduct to identify and eliminate suppliers who introduce non-conforming materials into our process.

    • For suppliers who fail to meet our high standards for safety and environmental sustainability, we have and will continue to levy fines and suspend problem accounts.

We understand the importance of making Louisville and Clifton Heights a great place to live. Beyond our operations, we try to go the extra mile to help our community. Examples of RMR giving back to the community include:

  • Hosting 31 different Kentucky fire departments for free ‘Jaws of Life’ emergency response training.

  • Partnering with Ronald McDonald House to recycle all the aluminum collected, allowing them to reinvest the proceeds into their mission.

  • Supporting the GE Appliances Clean-Up Team by providing a container for a local west end football and athletic facility clean up.

  • Accepting E-scrap from the community for free. Through the annual fall Better Business Bureau Electronic Recycling Event.

  • Contributing to The Center for Women and Families.

  • Supporting Home of the Innocents.

  • Partnering with local charities (most recently The Healing Place) to raise money by collecting and recycling aluminum cans through our “Cans for a Cause” initiative.
